                                                            「支數」是表示編織棉織品所需棉線粗細的單位。簡單地說，它的意思是「線的粗細」。數字越大，線變得越細。用棉花紡成的面積為1磅的768.1m的線是1支，如果紡20次就變成20根線，如果紡30次就變成30根線。因此，20和30的區別可以說是厚和薄的區別。原則是數字越低，表面越厚，數字越高，表面越薄。
                                                            20支棉：多用在一般台灣男性穿著的厚度，還不會激凸、白T不會透、透氣度佳、還算夠硬挺、休閒舒適，對台灣悶熱的夏天來說剛剛好。

                                                            支數越低，衣服厚度越厚，成本較高，所以較昂貴呀，別再被騙啦!

                                                            目前台灣的棉布的厚度規格約為：16支>20支>24支>30支>40支。

                                                            精梳棉的製程比一般純棉布料更加的費功夫，以精梳機移除棉纖維中較短的纖維而留下較長而且整齊的纖維，因此能夠紡出較細而且品質較好的紗，稱為精梳棉紗，精梳棉紗織成的織物，耐洗耐用、細緻度佳、光澤感好，觸感柔順，也因為纖維純度高，布料染色後色彩均勻，多次洗滌也不易起球，不易掉棉絮。
